1. DO YOU TAKE COMMISSIONS?
I do indeed. if you’d like to me to paint a commission for you of your favourite place do get in touch via the contact form or by email. I can talk about budgets, materials and colours, and. I will need some photos of the place. Here's a bit more information for you...
2. WILL YOU POST INTERNATIONALLY?
I ship all over the world. I use Royal Mail and use an international tracked & signed for service. The prices are based on size so if there is a larger painting that works out extraordinary expensive I will use a courier. I do not charge taxes on my work so there is a chance you may be charged customs charges. Whilst this hasn't as yet been a problem I cannot promise it won't happen to you.
Please consider this when ordering a one off piece of work because I will not be able to refund a return if it comes back to me in an unfit state to resell, due to a rejected delivery.
3. DO YOU TEACH WORKSHOPS?
I sadly no longer offer workshops or teaching of any kind. Not even privately I'm afraid.
4. DO YOU SELL YOUR WORK IN GALLERIES?
I do sell work in galleries and am I also looking for new galleries to exhibit in both in the Uk and abroad. If you look at my stockists page you will find which galleries currently stock my work, other than on this website.
5. DO YOU DO EMBROIDERY ANYMORE?
I no long stitch or make any artwork with textiles and have no plans of returning to that medium at present.
6. CAN I PAY IN INSTALMENTS?
You can. I am normally happy to arrange something with you. If you pop me an email or fill in the contact form, we can have a chat about how we can work it out. I will make the painting you want for sale and it will be posted out to you at the end of the payment plan.
7. ARE YOUR MATERIALS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?
The packaging I use is recycled and eco friendly. Where possible I will reuse packaging I have been sent in parcels, and I always chose companies that use sustainably sourced paper and cardboard. It is important to me to use as many plastic free materials as possible.
I mainly use oil paints within my practice. Proper handling of leftover paint is one of the best things to learn as an artist concerned about the environment. Incorrectly disposing of things like oil paint and turpentine/mineral spirits used for cleaning is one of the most harmful things you can do to the planet. I always dispose of left over paint, paint water, mineral spirits in the correct manner to stop the release of these toxic chemicals into the environment.
I do have an environmental policy and a blog post about health and safety in my studio.
8. HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY PAINTING & KEEP IT FROM FADING?
The best ways to look after your paintings is to keep them out of direct sunlight, such as in a conservatory. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will fade the colours in your oil painting.
Avoid hanging your painting near to extreme heat, cold, or humidity. Places like directly over fires, radiators, heaters, in bathrooms, kitchens or around a swimming pool. Avoid a damp room as it encourages mould and mildew. Obviously you really can hang your artwork anywhere you want to but just be aware of these things because they can cause harm to your paintings over a period of time, and after investing in an artwork you want to get the most out of it.
I use lightfast pigments within my paints and a varnish with UV protection. Neon or fluorescent painting are not lightfast and will always fade, any paintings containing these pigments will be noted in the paintings description. I take every care I can to make sure the materials I use are of the best quality and will last as long as possible.
